On March 1st, the UN celebrates the World Day of Zero Discrimination. The date, created by the Joint United Nations Program on HIV/AIDS, Unaids, in 2014, is an opportunity to celebrate diversity and reject any kind of prejudice. The Universal Declaration of Human Rights, of 1948, already enshrined that all people are equal, in dignity and worth, without stigma or discrimination.
And we cannot talk about discrimination without referring to inequalities, as they are intimately connected. Discrimination, whether structural or social, can lead to many inequalities, whether related to health, education, income, employment and justice, and inequalities themselves can also lead to stigma and discrimination.
Packem believes in a more equal and fair world. No one should be discriminated against because of their gender identity, disability, sex, sexual orientation, race, ethnicity. With that in mind, we created the month “Zero Discrimination”, where every Tuesday in March we will do a live for our employees with themes about social inclusion and appreciation of differences.
Our first live will take place on March 08 at 15:00 and will have the theme “Woman, you can be whatever you want”
